Katharine Ross

I just watched "The Graduate" recently and couldn't stop thinking about what a special look Katharine Ross had.  Something about her looks so...sweet.  Almost chaste.

And it's not just her.  If you watch a movie from the era, there were a lot of girls with that indescribable saccharin look.  I feel like you don't see that anymore.

Stream Lykke Li's "Wounded Rhymes"

Streaming full albums before they release seems to be all the rage these days.  Toro y Moi did it.  Radiohead did it.  Now it's Lykke Li's turn to give us the goods before Wounded Rhymes' March 1 release.

Stream here.

I've mentioned my love for Lykke Li before, and this album just piles it on.  My favorites so far?  "Sadness Is A Blessing".  Amen to that.

Erykah Badu - "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long"

Erykah Badu is an artist who has been praised the world over for her music, but because of her post-1994 Afrocentricity and penchant for weirdness, I feel like people overlook one other thing:  she's damn pretty.

General rule of thumb:  Never question Three Stack's judgment.

See her new video for "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long" below.

Badu's latest album New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh is a phenomenal addition to her catalog.  For good measure, here's the controversial music video to my favorite song from the album, "Window Seat".

Minka Kelly

Why, hello there.

I don't do sports, but it would seem that when it comes to hot girlfriends, Derek Jeter is batting a thousand. (See what I did there?)

Lykke Li - "I Follow Rivers (Dave Sitek Remix)"

For the uninitiated, Lykke Li is an indie goddess.  Li's new single "I Follow Rivers" got the remix treatment from TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek.  Listen/download below.

Also check out a couple of older Lykke Li tracks that made her debut Youth Novels one of my favorites.  First, there's "Little Bit", a fantastic song about the vulnerability you feel when you realize that you just fell in love.  (Also great: the line "For you, I'd keep my legs apart".  Yes please.)

 Little Bit by LykkeLi

Second is "I'm Good, I'm Gone", which is her refusal to be set back by love.  I love the sentiment.  Watch the vid which has Lykke doing weird dances and female bodybuilders playing the drums for no discernible reason.

And be sure to check out Lykke Li's sophomore album Wounded Rhymes on March 1.

Love this bitch.

Das Racist's Heems Remixes "Teenage Dream"

 VS.

What a weird day for music.  First, there was that Kesha track that Three Stacks made worth listening to (almost), and now this.  Das Racist's Heems took Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream", slowed it down, and rapped over it in his too-cool-to-care monotone.  Listen/Download below.

Das Racist's Heems x Katy Perry - Teenage Dream by Pretty Much Amazing

She looks like a sluttier version of Zooey Deschanel, so of course, I dig.

Fiona Apple covers Elvis Costello's "I Want You"

I can't believe that this hasn't come up before, but aside from Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, Fiona is my musical goddess.  The angst, the power, the glory; nobody does it like Fi.  She does no wrong.

Now, I'm not a huge Elvis Costello fan, so I wasn't familiar with the original version of this powerhouse ballad before hearing Fiona's take on it, but I know for a fact that his couldn't hold a candle.  The raw emotion in her voice is astonishing.  Visceral.  I can say that this is definitely my all-time favorite cover, if not my favorite song.

I can't say any more that I love you. Everything else is a waste of breath.

Me In My Place

Me In My Place is a blog that posts photos of, as the site describes, "real girls in their own place." It's a very simple concept. Basically, a photographer invites especially self-assured everyday girls to contact him so that he can take pictures of them. I know it sounds a tad bit rape-y (did I mention most of the girls are in their underwear?), but trust me, it's not like that.

There's something so sexy about the fact that these girls aren't models.  I like to think it's the confidence that these everyday girls must have in order to put themselves out there like this.

Note to self: must date a girl who paints in her underwear.  Or nude.  I'm not picky.

She & Coco & Him sing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

Conan O'Brien is a ginger God.  There's a million reasons to be happy he's back on the air, but my favorite one is his pull with indie artists and his penchant for doing things like this with them:

I love Zooey Deschanel.

(I don't really have anything else to say about that, I just though it would be a nice excuse for a picture.)

Ellen Wong

I watched Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World again recently, and I couldn't help but think that sure Knives Chau was suppose to be 17, but come on.  Look at Ellen Wong.

Wong is actually in her mid-20s, so don't judge me.

You were after the wrong one, Scott.

...then again...

Frieda Pinto

I totally stole this from I Am Donald, but I don't even care.  The second I saw Frieda in "Slumdog Millionaire", a crush object was born.

How do you say "love of my life" in Hindi?

Inked Girls

I have a weakness for girls with tattoos and piercings.  Not sure why, but it's incredibly sexy to me.  Thought I'd share.

"If The Fire's Out, Baby, How You Gonna Keep Me Warm?"

Last night I fulfilled one of my long time goals and saw one of my favorite bands, Canadian pop-rock sensations Metric, in concert.  It blew my mind.  Emily Haines sounded exactly the same live and had great stage presence, which made me love her all the more.

Afterwards, I found this fan-created animated music video for "Collect Call" that I fell in love with.  Check it out.

I love that "Collect Call" and wish they would have played it, but they did however play an acoustic version of one of my all time favorites, "Combat Baby" that was just incredible.  I just found out that this song is on the Rock Band 3 track list.  Ugh.  Watch the original below.

Love her.

Hello?

This is another track by one of my crush objects, DJ Sosupersam.  It's smooth as fuck.  No other way to really describe it.
